A Pod Picnic!!

 Dear parents & caregivers, Tomorrow is A Pod's Picnic Day! The students will need to get their Morning Tea only as they will be provided with food for the afternoon. We are slowly winding down and trying to enjoy the Christmas spirit. Thanks again for your continuous help in your child's learning journey. Looking forward to having fun with my lovely students!!

Dear parents & caregivers, Monday the 7th of December is "A Pod Christmas Play". The play starts at 11.30 after Morning Tea. Please do come and support us. Costume for the play: Shepherds: Welly's mum designed his costume with a Lava lava. Here is a pic .. Please send in some material that I could drape them in for the play Lava lava, a belt for the waist, a pillow case for the head.  Angels:  White dress & wings Jesus' time clothes: Wise men: Bright material with a crown  King Herod : Thanks for your support again. I will see you on Monday.

Dear parents & caregivers, A huge thank you!! "The Garden to Table" picnic was such a huge success. Thanks for providing us with the essentials that we needed for the picnic. We had plenty of food that we will have decided to eat some for tomorrow as well. The students had so much fun harvesting the produce,  preparing the salad and then eat it along with one another. Thanks again. Please note: Tomorrow is Mufti Day as it is  Prize giving night. School finishes early at 2 in the afternoon. Please do come early & pick up your child. Students need to come for the Prize giving night in their full school uniform. The venue will be open from  5.30 onwards. A Pod will be performing a Christmas Carol. Do come & enjoy. Will see you all tomorrow.

Hello parents & caregivers, Thanks again for your support in your child's learning journey. Thanks for always being so amazing in helping me with the necessary help when ever needed. I feel so privileged to work along side with such dedicated parents. Coming to the news: This week is week 8. On Monday I have promised my lovely students that we will have a Class Picnic. There is a reason behind it. In Term 3 for our Topic we learnt about " Growing"  "Garden to Table"as this connected to our previous Topic " God's Planet" " How do we take care of it"? So, towards the end of Term 3 when the weather was just right we set out into our A Pod garden.  We planted some Pea & Bean plants. We cared for them everyday. The students experienced the whole cycle. "Life cycle of a Bean & Pea Plant". End of year Mass!!

Dear parents & caregivers, Tomorrow is our last Mass for the year. The Mass will be organised by our year 8 students { school leavers}. The Mass starts at 11.15 in the morning. Please do send a can of food for the less privileged in our community. You are welcome to come and join us for the Mass to support us. Thanks  

Weekly updates!!

This Monday is School Photographs. Please send your child in correct uniform.  Reminder: As you know it's getting hotter by the day so, please do send your child to school with a hat & a drink bottle. If they have no hat they will not be allowed to play both during Morning recess and Lunch recess.  Rosary Project: On Friday A1 students came home with their  Rosary & Personal Prayer Book that they designed. I hope you are proud of their hard work. Sharing some pics of their work.  

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS!!

Hello parents & caregivers, Monday the 16th of November is St.Mary Mackillop's Diwali Celebrations. The celebrations start with a Liturgy at 2 in the afternoon, followed by some entertainment by our lovely students. Please do come and support us. Please note: Boys outfits Black jeans or pants, white t-shirts & a round hat. Girls: Long or short skirt with a singlet. This Friday the 20th November is A & B Pod Mass in the Wharenui at 9.15 in the Morning.  You are welcome to join us. Please do come & support us. Right foot ware 6.Sunscreen protection Today your child came home with some information about a Research study. There is a consent form for your permission if they can go forward with this.  Please do send in the consent form  tomorrow with your signatures. Dear parents & caregivers, A big thanks to you all for supporting "Cans for Christmas". It's was a huge collection of cans. The organiser has asked to personally thank each one of you for your kind thought & support. Celebrations Project:   Thanks for your support. The projects look stunning and I have learnt a lot about each family celebrations. Upcoming events for the week: Maths e-asTTle online testing from Monday for year 3 students. Please try to prepare yourselves for the test. Good luck year 3 students.  Reading testing for all students. Hello Parents & caregivers, On Friday your child came home with a A3 Chart paper. The chart paper is for Celebration Project. Term 4 's Inquiry Topic is Celebrations. We have discussed the importance of the Chinese Lantern festival, and the Hifi Ulu  Niuean boys hair cutting celebrations.  Please help your child with the project. Prayer Bag coming home!!

Hello parents & caregivers,  Just a friendly reminder tomorrow is our Beginning of Term 4 Mass at St. Therese Parish.  Timings:  11.30  You are welcome to come and join us for the Mass. Please do send  in a can of food for the  less fortunate in our community.  Thanks Prayer Bag: Your child will bring the prayer Box home according to the Roster. They will organise prayers at home with the family. Please do take some pics or videos and share with me. The prayer bag will be returned back to class the next day itself.  Thanks

Hello lovely A1 students, Hope you guys are enjoying your break with your families. The weather has been glorious to go out and have fun.  As I discussed in class that one week play time and one week learning time. I hope you all have used your little note book and worked on spelling activity. The goal was to read your Duffy book and find new vocabulary and note them in your spelling note book. The next task was to clarify these words using a dictionary. I will be checking it once we are back to school on Monday. Writing Homework: Back to Narrative writing. Term 4 is testing time. Important news!!!

Dear parents & caregivers, An important information from tomorrow that is  Monday 14th September School finishes at 3 p.m in the afternoon. This time is for the whole school. There will be no more staggered brakes. The students will be allowed in the class from 8.15 a.m. in the morning. No parents onsite. A5 & A6 parents with contact tracing. The students will need to carry water bottles as the water fountain will not be accessible.  Thanks for your cooperation.
